Stuttgart's history, shown anew.
A new website for the association for the promotion and preservation of historic buildings: design and technology by acessio, texts and content by the association.
The task.
The association's concern has remained the same: preserving historic buildings, documenting their history and showing Stuttgart's architectural heritage. The digital presence was to do this justice.
What we built.

Visual design
A calm, dignified presence that puts the buildings at the centre.

Inventory
Historic photographs and current views face each other and show the change.

Technical implementation
Fast, clean and built so that the association can supply content itself.
The concern
The association's concern has remained the same: preserving historic buildings, documenting their history and showing what makes up Stuttgart's townscape. The new website gives this work a contemporary digital setting.
Discover
What I find particularly exciting is the inventory. Historic photographs and current views are set side by side to make the changes of the past 50 years visible. The digital reconstruction of the Lusthaus is also worth a look. But I don't want to give away too much about the site. There is plenty to discover, for people from Stuttgart and of course for everyone else interested in our city.
There is also a magazine in which Frank Schweizer draws attention to important local topics.
Design and implementation
On the website, my focus was on visual design and technical implementation. All texts and content come from the association. The site is divided into four areas: projects, news, publications and contact. Alongside the association's projects you'll find news there and insights into the brochures the association publishes.
With an easy-to-use content management system, the association can maintain its content itself, create new posts and add publications. Technically, we made sure the site displays clearly on mobile and desktop. Individual page titles, suitable meta descriptions and a sitemap also lay the foundation for search engines to understand the individual pieces of content.
